Coyle High School Graduation
Tuesday, June 2, 2020
The Coyle High School Graduation Commencement Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 7:00pm on the Coyle High School Football Field.
Graduation rehearsal will be Monday, June 1st at 9:00am at the High School Football Field. Rehearsal will be for graduating seniors only and those involved with the ceremony.
To try and follow CDC guidelines and not have to limit the number of attendees, the ceremony has been moved from the Gymnasium to the Football Field. Graduates will be seated in the home bleachers. Family and guests attending the ceremony are asked to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets and spread out throughout the football field grass playing area. The speaking podium will be placed at the bottom of the home bleachers facing the football field.
Family and guests will enter the field by walking down the visitor sidewalk and enter the field from the south. No one will be allowed to set up chairs/blankets or enter the field until 5:30pm.
Guests are welcome to wear masks. We ask that you understand your own vulnerability as well as others and be mindful of CDC recommendations. We respect your concerns if you do not wish to attend as this is a ceremony and has no bearing on a student graduating.
In the event the weather does not allow the event to take place outside, the ceremony will be moved to the gymnasium and each graduate will be given 15 tickets for family and guests to attend.

JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM--Juniors and Seniors MUST contact Mrs. Larman (405-612-0467) if you are attending prom with your date's name and grade level. We cannot have over 50 in the gym. It is imperative that you let me know. If you do not contact me and you show up, you will not be allowed to enter until we know that you will not put us over the limit. Remember you cannot bring anyone who is not a junior or senior in high school. We will contact schools to get them approved by the principal. We will still be doing social distancing; masks are highly recommended. Class Sponsors, the School Resource Officer and the Administration will be supervising.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!! Coyle Public Schools will hold their Commencement Ceremonies on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00 PM in the New Gymnasium. Individual Senior Pictures are on the school website (coyle.k12.ok.us).

Students in grades 8-12 will check out of school when they turn in their laptops. Students need to bring all school supplies--textbooks, calculators, athletic equipment--to turn in also at this time. If you did not take your laptop home, you will still need to check out of school for the year. Those students who did not have a laptop at home may come any day Monday, May 11 to Thursday, May 14 between 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Weathers or Mrs. Larman.

Today is the last day of school for the 2019-2020 school year! It has been a crazy last couple of months and we want to thank the students, parents, teachers and staff for making the distance learning experience the best that we could! Mrs. Ritter will be at the Coyle Elementary School from 10:00am-3:00pm today (May 8th) and all next week, if anyone needs to drop off homework packets or to pick up any student belongings. Thank you Coyle Teachers and Staff for making the best out of this distance learning experience! This is the last week of distance learning and only fitting that it is also Teacher Appreciation Week!

Importance of the US Census--If you have not done yours already, there is a major reason to do it. The welfare of our school district. From federal monies to state monies, we are dependent on these funds. Every single person in our school district counts when they tally our population. Please take the time today to complete the US Census for our students. Now more than ever, we need to make sure we are all counted. We are engaged in a new learning distance program that will change the way education looks in the future. We need the funds to make sure we continue to be competitive with the schools around us. It will take at the most 10-15 minutes of your time. Thank you on behalf of the students in our district for taking the time to complete your US Census.

Coyle School has a plan in place regarding continuing the important task of providing education to students for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Each teacher will contact their students in their class and outline their plan for online learning. If for some reason you do not hear from the teacher by Friday, April 3, please let us know by contacting me at 405-740-4922 or sweathers@coyle.k12.ok.us.
Our teachers are working hard through innovative ways to present the classroom material. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work out challenges that may arise. If you DO NOT have access to internet service, assignments for students can be picked up at the school each week on Mondays (11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon). This will also be the time to drop off any completed work. School personnel will meet you at the front door of the High School during the time listed above.
If you have any questions, you may call or email your teacher. The teachers’ emails are on the Coyle School website—coyle.k12.ok.us--under Staff in the Menu. Parents and students are welcome to call Mr. Weathers if you have any questions.
Coyle School is still planning on the usual graduation date of May 12, 2020. If the State Department extends the request for no school activities and we cannot have an indoor graduation, we do have another plan for graduation of the 2020 Coyle School Seniors. All sport events and extracurricular activities are cancelled through the end of the school year.
Please continue staying safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing everyone again and returning to our regular school environment in the future. Take care, and we appreciate you and your students having Bluejacket Pride.
